    Inspired by immigrant workers in the U.S., who will likely soon be scarce, Abundant Robotics created a robot to pick apples in the field.  The robot can identify, pluck, and place apples into a crate at a speed similar to that of human pickers.  The robot pickers are currently being tested in Washington state.
