Blue Collar Conservatives: Recommitting to an America That Works
“In the summer of 2014, Trump asked me to stop by his office the next time I was in Manhattan... When we walked into his office, he was sitting behind his desk holding a copy of my book Blue Collar Conservatives that I had published that spring. The first thing he said was, 'I read your book.'I laughed. 'The hell you read my book.'Trump shot back, 'I did; it was great!'So I quizzed him on the message in my book – that the great middle of America was hollowing out as a result of big-government policies that were helping the elites but leaving blue-collar families behind. And to my great surprise, Trump passed my test with flying colors. We discussed the problems facing Middle America – specifically the implications of unfettered globalization on American manufacturing and its effect on wages for blue-collar families. The real estate mogul not only got it, he was as upset as I was that these families were being left behind. He said he might run for president and, if he did, he wanted to take that message to the American voter – and did he ever.”—Rick Santorum, The Philadelphia Inquirer“This is a serious book… [Rick Santorum] has seen ghost towns (including some in his home state) where trade policies, in his opinion, have hurt more than helped the economy. Therein lies a big part of Mr. Santorum’s recipe for GOP success: Campaigns should emphasize jobs and the needs of the employee…”— The Washington Times"In Blue Collar Conservatives: Recommitting to an America That Works, Santorum urges the Republican Party to refocus on working Americans.”—U.S. News & World Report Before Donald Trump successfully mobilized millions of blue collar Americans with his campaign to reclaim America, Rick Santorum was trying to convince his fellow Republicans that it was time to return to the party’s original values: the values of “blue collar conservatives.”In this powerful book that helped inspire President-Elect Trump’s winning message to voters, Santorum calls out Republican establishment leaders for pandering to business owners at the expense of everyone else. Republicans need to regain the trust of the hard-working members of every family, church, and community across America whose most immediate problems are lack of jobs and opportunity. No more pandering. No more ignoring those left behind by globalization. No more broken promises to the frustrated middle class. We're entering a brand new era of conservative politics—and Rick Santorum's Blue Collar Conservatives shows us the way forward.

It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good
Among politicians of national stature today, there is perhaps none more respected as a principled conservative than Rick Santorum. In It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good, Santorum articulates the humane vision that he believes must inform public policy if it is to be effective and just. An appreciation for the civic bonds that unite a community lies at the heart of genuine conservatism. Moreover, Santorum demonstrates how such an approach to political, social, and economic problems offers the most promise for those on the margin of life: the poor, the vulnerable, and minorities who have often been excluded from opportunity in America.Santorum argues that conservative statesmanship is animated by a sense of stewardship for an inheritance. But what do we inherit as Americans? And how can we be good stewards of that inheritance? Building on Robert Putnam’s discussion of “social capital,” the habits of association and trust that are the preconditions of any decent society, Santorum assesses how well, in the past generation, Americans have cared for the “fabric” of society. He explores in detail various dimensions of social and cultural connection that are the foundation of the common good. And he presents innovative policy proposals for the renewal of American society at all levels.Throughout his book, Santorum emphasizes the central role of the family—in contradistinction to the metaphorical “village” of the federal government, as promoted by Hillary Clinton—in achieving the common good. With a sustained argument touching on first principles throughout, this ambitious and original book is a major contribution to contemporary political debate. It Takes a Family further establishes Santorum as the leader of reform-minded civic conservatives in America.

Now is the time for a new generation of American patriots to rise up and join in the fight. Now is the time for every American to return to the virtues, values, and ideals that formed our foundation of freedom, and enable America to remain a great nation, a powerful democracy, and a beacon of hope for the world.American Patriots highlights the heroic men and women who valiantly fought to secure our God-given rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness―not only for themselves and their children, but for countless future generations. Their stories are a true reminder of the extraordinary faith, courage, and determination that set this country on the path to greatness centuries ago, and an inspiration for future generations of great American patriots.

They Offered to Lead Their Nation: A Review of the Announcement Speech of Rick Santorum 2016 Republican Candidate for President of the United States
They Offered to Lead Their Nation is a book series of reviews of the announcement speeches of Republican candidates for President of the United States. An announcement speech reveals the major platform of a candidate and why he or she has chosen to throw a hat in the ring. These volumes have a simple goal - that you to know what the candidate said in the announcement speech. These reviews are not to play “gotcha” with any candidate. Don Cole presents a concise review of the announcement speech. He wants you to know what the candidate believes is important and wants you to hear. One of these candidates will likely be taking the Oath of Office a few months from now as the 42nd President of the United States. What that person thought of as important at the beginning will likely be the foundation on which all future decisions are made. Here is what some others have said about "They Offered to Lead Their Nation."Don Cole does what any conscientious voter should do....but most of us don’t. He listens carefully to what each candidate says and objectively distills that down into what it means. He provides his readers the means to make an informed decision, rather than relying on what others say about the candidate. Rather than trying to convince you who you should support, he gives the reader the tools to decide for themselves...in essence, the way our Republic was designed. His work will make us all better citizens by becoming more informed voters. Unless one plans to do the laborious research themselves, you will not find a more informative, objective, and helpful source than Don Cole. - Sonny Perdue Governor Georgia 2003-2011~~~~~In this world of abundant information we sometimes can’t see the forest for the trees. These reviews are short and concise therefore a valuable tool for me to make a more informed decision. How can we complain if we don’t do our part to make it better? Thank you Don. - David S. (Steve) Southwell - Owner Smoakies Bar-B-Que Cordele, Georgia~~~~~Don Cole has written an interesting compendium summarizing and analyzing the announcement speeches of the 2016 GOP Presidential field. It contains lots of historical context and comparisons making it a valuable resource for readers in developing their own opinions about the race. - Randy Evans - Republican National Committee - National Committeeman - Georgia~~~~~Don’s compilation of announcement reviews is truly worth the read. In a field crowded with Republican hopefuls, Don presents the issues that the candidates defined in their drive for the nation’s highest office. - Bob Koncerak - Founding Chairman, Republican Leadership for Georgia~~~~~An astute observer of the national political scene, Don Cole provides an excellent analysis of the announcement speeches of each Republican Presidential candidate. His insights provide a common sense voter’s guide for conservatives and independents across the nation. - Patrick T Malone - Senior Partner - The PAR Group~~~~~Don Cole is a true Grassroots Activist - these reviews are a Resource for Voters seeking to make an informed decision to Choose to our 2016 Republican Nominee. - Alec Poitevint - Republican National Committee -Member 1989-2012~~~~~I am not as involved on the political process as I should be. Therefore I was delighted to have this fair and unbiased synopsis of each presidential candidacy speech up to this point. -Frankie Ross, Average Citizen

Guide to Your Congressman: Rick Santorum
ABOUT THE BOOK On April 10, 2012, when Rick Santorum announced he was stepping out of the race to become the Republican candidate for President of the United States, he answered a question many have been asking for a several months now: when is this guy gonna just give up? But although his bid for the presidency may have never stood a chance (he was being outspent by Romney on a margin of 10-1), he made it longer and further than anyone ever predicted, and played an interesting and significant role in the shaping of the coming national election. The primary elections unfolded this year in an unusual pattern. Though it began with a sense of inevitability that Mitt Romney, Santorums multi-multi-multi-millionaire rival, would win the nomination, each candidate had his or her fifteen minutes in the frontrunner position. Yet with each possible Romney alternative, closer inspection always revealed some deal breaking discoveries. Herman Cain was alleged to be a repeat sexual harasser, questions about Rick Perrys intelligence kept surfacing, and Michele Bachmann continued making unsupported statements about the HPV vaccine causing mental retardation. MEET THE AUTHOR Deena Shanker is a writer living in San Francisco. After moving to the west coast from New York City in the fall, she is loving San Fran's beautiful weather, colorful architecture, and never-ending vegetarian food options. She loves visiting the beach with her dog, Barley, and eating cheese (also sometimes with Barley). She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Barnard College. EXCERPT FROM THE BOOK Though to many Americans, the economy is the most important challenge facing our country, Santorum did not focus on it much on the campaign trail. On March 19, Politico noted that on the economy, Rick Santorum these days has very little to say. His focus had shifted to what he called a campaign for freedom. He even stated I dont care what the unemployment rates going to be...My campaign doesnt hinge on unemployment rates and growth rates. Its something more foundational going on. Yet according to Santorums campaign website, he does have an economic plan. Dubbed Made In America, it is based on the recognition that to have a strong national economy, we must have strong families... His vision for American is to restore Americas greatness through the promotion of faith, family and freedom. Beyond these platitudes, Santorum provides a number of specific plans including eliminating the estate tax (what Republicans have named the Death Tax), cutting the corporate income tax rate in half, from 35% to 17.5%, and getting rid of all Obama era regulations with economic impact over $100 million.
